If we only knew ...

Today I was reading about Jesus at the well, talking to the Samaritan woman. John 10:4 popped off the page to me. Jesus says to the woman, "If you knew the generosity of God and who I am, you would be asking me for a drink, and I would give you fresh, living water."

How often do I forget the generosity of God? If I would always remember...If I really knew, then I would ask Him everyday for His fresh, living water which overflows to me and through me.

His love is the living water and ... “The marvelous news is that we have been loved and we are loved, each and every one of us. Uniquely and individually. At the heart of the universe is love, divine love, personal, intimate God-love for you and for me. We are known! We are chosen! We are loved! Once experienced at the deep levels of the soul, no reality can be more profoundly disturbing, more radically healing, more utterly transforming.” -Richard Foster, from p. xiii, in The Foreword to Embracing the Love of God by James Bryan Smith.

I come to the well today and ask for a drink of His living water...His unfailing love. Thank you Jesus!
